How do I order from you? I want that Hat/Fanny/Whathaveyou but it says Sold Out!

First of all, thank you for even making it to my FAQ to investigate the answer to this. I’m trying hard to stock as much as I can, as soon as I can! While this is my full-time job, and I dedicate more moments than I care to divulge thinking about everything N.E.W., it’s still just me fulfilling every roll at headquarters. Maybe I’ll find better ways of getting my art out into the world one day, or maybe this is actually the perfect balance for me to maintain my love of what I do while avoiding burnout. But either way, I really deeply thank you for sticking around and being patient.

Custom Projects. I want a specific bag/hat/etc, that you don’t already make…would you take on a custom project?

No, I’m sorry! I started my business with Made to Order products and took on most customs as they came along. In the end I have learned that they are time consuming…way more time than it’s worth on either end. I would much prefer to do collaborations or small runs of something that interests me. If you really, really think it’s something we would both jive on, send me a message and try me!

What is waxed canvas and can it be cleaned?

Waxed cotton canvas is a natural textile treated with wax to create a delicious, water repellent fabric, perfect for all the elements. To keep it looking it's best, avoid placing on the ground (like any good thing you love), spot wash with a damp cloth, and finally, *use a blow dryer if you want to freshen it up as the heat will make the wax more malleable. Re-wax as needed.

(*if your bag was shipped it may be folded and creased. You can use a blow dryer to massage out the creased lines if it bugs you!)

When can I get my order?

I will have it ready for pick up in 1-4 business days and you’ll receive an email notification when it’s ready!

Where is Local Pick up?

Our good friends at Bric a Brac Salvage have kindly offered a safe space for local pick ups. Your package will be available to pick up from Wednesday to Monday between 11am - 6pm at Bric a Brac Salvage at 574 Yates St.

Please pick your package up within 2 weeks of your notification or let me know if you need more time to get it. My buddies at BaB are kindly lending out space to host people’s packages and I would be remiss to put them out even further :)

When will my order ship?

Your item will ship within 1-4 business days of purchase. I send all mail out on Friday’s in order to streamline my time. Tracking (if you chose it) should start to update on the following Monday. If you need something sooner, send me a message!

Do you offer lettermail within Canada?

If you send me a message, and the item fits in lettermail, AND you assume the very high risk of never getting your package because Canada Post is a bummer…then yes.

Do you ship outside of Canada?

Yes! I don’t have every single country added, but if you have an issue checking out, send me a message and I’ll make sure to add yours!

The rain left specs on my heavyweight waxed canvas bag, what’s that about?

Not all but a lot of the heavyweight waxed canvas I get is from another small business in Texas that hand-waxes the canvas with bees wax made from local bees. They don’t use any unnatural ingredients in their products and some of the pieces will develop light marks from water. All creases and marks are a part of the waxed canvas’ journey in patina-ing, but if it bothers you, just run a hair dryer over the marks to re-soften the wax and they will disappear (as with most crease marks).
